The strong thrives in the heat
In the heat of summer, everyone and everything seeks a cool and hiding place from the probing heat. As much as people want to engage in a lot of outdoor activities, in extreme cases, warnings are issued for people to remain indoors.
What strikes me most at this time of extremity is the pride with which some flowers bud. At times when grasses and most flowers cave in and dry out due to the burning heat, and have to be watered from time to time, some require the heat of the sun to bud. They let out their flowers beautifully to lend beauty and hope to the environment during this summer heat.
Then it struck me, everyone has reasons to cave in in dire conditions, and excusably so. The economy is bad, they say, new sectors are not opening up, the existing world powers are not working together, climate change debates, and the reasons go on and on.
Caring for and about others when times are good is laudable; we need care to make the world habitable. However, caring when there are genuine reasons not to depicts great strength and resilience. Sticking around strongly after others have packed up their care nets is a venture only attributable to the strong.
Be sure to be able to say after the heat of life subsides, for it never goes away, that you thrived and made the world better in the dire times. Only then can you be called strong.
